LEARN TO SING COURSE STARTING - Register Today

The Learn to Sing Course runs from 7 - 8 pm for 10 weeks starting 24th September 2010.

This course is designed to encourage more people to take up singing.  It is aimed at both those who are new to singing and also those who hae not sung for a while.

The next course starts 24th September 2010, from 7-8pm for 10 weeks

Venue: Barkingside Methodist Church, Fremantle Rd, Barkingside, Essex.

Learn to Sing within a group environment

Course Content:

-  How to find your voice and gain confidence in singing:

-  Learn to pitch notes and to sing songs in unison and parts;

-  Learn some basic ideas about vocal technique (eg. posture, breathing, relaxation)

-  Learn to follow choral scores and understand how rhythms and pitches are written;

-  Learn different singing styles and how to express music.

-  Progress on to following and holding a part.

Repertoire:  Various styles appealing to a wide range of tastes, including popular songs, world music (e.g. from Africa), folk songs and classical songs.

The benefits of the course are:

-  You learn within a group, which makes it easier and is less daunting.

-  If you haven't sung for a while, this course is the perfect way to ease your vocal chords back into action.

-  If you are a regular singer you may find the course useful to learn different voice parts, in a relaxed and friendly environment.

-  If you are new to singing, this Learn to Sing Course will help you to discover your voice and gain confidence.  Also, there's no need to worry about reading music, the simple teaching methods will help you to learn how to follow the music.

Singing can have health benefits: A number of studies have shown that singing can reduce stress levels and help to release endorphins (the "feel good" hormones).
